Teak wood is worth the price for deck furniture

Due to its limited availability and high demand, teak is more expensive than many other woods used to make outdoor furniture. However, this hardwood is incredibly dense and oil rich - characteristics which give it strength and safeguard it against damage from the elements and pests. Inherently protected from nature, teak tables and chairs have a lengthy lifespan of up to half a century. They are also very easy to maintain and clean with soap and water, so you can spend more time relaxing.

FSC certified and reclaimed teak are eco-friendly

Woods that are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) have been harvested from "responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social and economic benefits." Replenishing teak is important, given the wood's scarcity and popularity. Many of Decor Interiors' manufacturing partners also utilize reclaimed teak - wood that has been recycled from prior usage. This "green" alternative to virgin wood also has the benefit of additional "character" that can only be acquired through time. Teak's long lifespan means that you won't have to keep replacing deck furniture - another way to be environmentally responsible.

Hardwood with two natural finishes

Initially, teakwood has a yellowish brown color that requires little oiling to maintain its warm woodgrain appearance. It complements a wide variety of decor styles in its original state or it can be stained to match other elements of your patio setting. If it is exposed to the sun for long periods without treatment, teak patinas into an appealing grayish silver finish. These very different looks make teak an ideal material for patio dining sets, outdoor sectionals and other deck furnishings.
